Spooktastic Halloween Events in Delaware DE

It feels like it’s been a while since we’ve all had a chance to embrace our spooky side.

This year, however, the festivities for Halloween in Lewes are back in full swing. So without delay, at The Beacon Inn, we’ve collected a list of seven spooktastic Halloween events 🎃 taking place across Delaware, DE, this month.

1. Boo at the Zoo! – Townsend, DE – October 1st to October 30th

Get a glimpse of the nocturnal world of the animals at 3 Palms Zoo in Townsend with their month-long ‘Boo at the Zoo!’ event. It’s held every Friday and Saturday of the month and is family-friendly, so specifically designed not to be scary. For the adults, there will even be warm cider and marshmallow roasting.

2. Lewes Historical Society’s Boos and Brews – October 29th

Throw yourself into the spooky season with the fantastic Boos & Brews event held by the Lewes Historical Society. You’ll be treated to spine-tingling tales, fantastic local food, drink, and music, but be sure to don your best Halloween costume for a chance to win the best costume prize.

3. Sea Witch Festival – Rehoboth Beach, DE – October 29th to October 31st

A classic event taking place in Rehoboth Beach (as well as Dewey Beach) each year, the Sea Witch Festival is back after taking last year off. You can expect all the usual fun and games at the 31st-anniversary event, with a new Sea Witch balloon taking flight down Rehoboth Avenue, along with games and live entertainment.

4. Frightland, Middletown DE – Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays, October

If you’re a thrill-seeker and a fan of haunted houses, then the Frightland attraction up in Middletown, Delaware, is the perfect Halloween destination for you. Running on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays (as well as two Thursdays this month), you can get your fill of jump-scares and screams at what some publications have named ‘Scariest Haunted Attraction in America’.

5. Halloween at Hagley, Wilmington DE – October 30th

The historic home and gardens of Hagley Museum & Library create the perfect, safe space for trick or treating with young children this Halloween. October 30th will see the beautiful setting play host to little ghouls and gremlins in costume, with treat stations and activities to make for a fun-filled day. There is even a parade so you can get some great snaps of your little ones in costume!

6. The Milton Theatre Halloween Kids Cabaret, Downtown Milton DE – October 28th

Were your kids born for the stage? Or are they just huge Halloween fans? Either way, the Halloween Kids Cabaret at The Milton Theatre in Downtown Milton is a great event for the little ones in a fun, safe setting. Best costume wins a prize and there’s a free trick or treat bag for those 13 and under. Kids aged between 6 and 18 years of age can sign up, but be quick, as the event is on the Thursday before Halloween.

7. 29th Children’s Fantasy Trail, Cape Henlopen State Park DE – October 27th

This year marks the 29th anniversary of the Children’s Fantasy Trail. Held minutes away from us at Cape Henlopen State Park, it’s set to be an evening filled with entertainment for little ones – with a trail marked by jack-o’-lanterns and opportunities to go trick or treating with favorite characters from storybooks. Halloween costumes are absolutely encouraged to help everyone get into the spirit on the 27th of October.
